Our Products
- Motor City Monk (MCM) began creating "wearable religion" in 2014 after a visit to Vatican City, where the founder purchased components to make rosaries and rare Jewish Mezuzahs. The inspiration to combine these elements with stone beads came after exploring rock stores in Michigan.
- The concept of creating necklaces and talismans grew from a deep study and understanding of early cultures and religions (please see About Us for more information), coupled with a desire to craft respectful and exciting pieces that can be worn or used as home decorations. MCM continually explores new ways to bring more unique products to the public.
- Motor City Monk consults with antiquities dealers worldwide. As a museologist, Matthew ensures a thorough understanding of the provenance and history of each piece he selects. When incorporated into a creation, a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is provided. Our collection includes rosaries for prayers, Catholic rosary beads, and other prayer beads.

Celebrating World Religions through the Multi-Disciplinary Lense
Among our interests and objects we create are bracelets, necklaces, and other talismans which can be worn or carried. We include objects from Buddhism, Slavic Faiths (Perun, Svarog), Judaism, the Kushites, Egyptian, Empire of Zimbabwe, Celtic, and Near East cultures.

Our Projects
In addition to recovering and curating church relics, we are involved with the rediscovery and recovery of Jewish ghettos in central Italy. It has been and will be an ongoing project. Motor City Monk intends to develop open-air museums from ghettos established over 1000 years ago that disappeared once the Inquisition came to the area (mid-16th century).
